Help Center AI Features AI Agent Builder

AI Agent Builder

The AI Agent Builder lets you create specialized AI agents (sub-agents) that handle specific tasks with custom prompts, knowledge, and behavior.

Creating an Agent

  1. Navigate to Admin > AI > AI Agents and click New Agent
  2. Give the agent a name, emoji, and description
  3. Write the System Prompt — this is the core instruction that defines the agent's personality, expertise, and behavior
  4. Configure settings: model override, categories, trigger keywords

Prompt Templates

Use the built-in prompt snippets to quickly build effective prompts:

  • Context — Company info, products, business context
  • Role — Customer support, technical specialist, sales
  • Rules — Response rules and boundaries
  • Tone — Professional, friendly, technical
  • Escalation — When and how to escalate to humans

Knowledge Base

Attach knowledge sources to your agent:

  • Text documents — Paste custom instructions or FAQs
  • File uploads — Upload .txt, .md, .csv, .json, .pdf, .docx files
  • App KB categories — Link categories from your Knowledge Base so the agent has access to those articles

Actions

  • Collect user info — Agent prompts visitors for contact details
  • Save to contacts — Automatically saves collected info to the user's contact record

Main System Prompt

Toggle Use as Main System Prompt to designate an agent's prompt as the primary AI system prompt for all conversations. Only one agent can be the main prompt at a time.

Testing

Use the Chat Test panel on the right to test your agent in a live conversation. The test includes knowledge base context, tool usage, and contact field collection — exactly as it would work in production.
